DIVINE HERESY Recruits PUSHED/THE BEREAVED Singer For South American Tour
July 17, 2008DIVINE HERESY, the Southern California-based band led by former FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares, has tapped 28-year-old singer Travis Neal (PUSHED, THE BEREAVED) to front the group for its upcoming tour of Mexico and South America.
DIVINE HERESY recently completed a North American trek with fill-in vocalist Jake Veredika (former lead singer of the Maryland-based metal band PERIPHERY) following the departure of Tommy Cummings.
Travis Neal (see photo below) in January joined the Swedish melodic death/thrash metal band THE BEREAVED as the group's new frontman. He has since recorded the vocal tracks for THE BEREAVED's new album, "Daylight Deception", which is due later in the year via Vic Records. Three songs from the CD are available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.
DIVINE HERESY's debut album, "Bleed the Fifth", has sold more than 20,000 copies in the United States since its August 2007 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD was released in Japan with an exclusive bonus track, "Purity Defiled".
